BWU Singles Chart Roundup 1/10: Kylie Lands Third #1

Kylie Minogue has scored her third #1 on the BWU Singles Chart.

Kylie's #1...again!
In an incredibly slow chart week due to the lack of new releases, Kylie leaps from #12 to #1 with "Better Than Today", the third single from Aphrodite. She is the first artist to have three #1 singles as a solo artist, and the first artist to have three #1 singles from one album. She also sets the record for the longest time to hit #1, which was nine weeks. With her three #1 singles, she has spent an amazing 11 weeks atop of the BWU Singles Chart.

In other Kylie chart news, her duet with Taio Cruz, "Higher", also sees a huge bump up to #12 from #26.

Joe McElderry's "Someone Wake Me Up" slips one spot to #2. Avril Lavigne, who debuted last week at #22 after only a day of release, explodes up to #3 on the chart with "What The Hell". Cheryl Cole's "The Flood" falls out of the top 10, down to #11 from #2. Meanwhile, "Promise This", now in its fourteenth week at four points away from the 400 point mark, holds on at #9. Nicole Scherzinger continues her rebound, hitting a new peak of #7 with "Poison".

Train re-enter the chart at #24 with "Marry Me", while the highest and only debut of the week is Nicki Minaj's "Moment 4 Life", featuring Drake, at #28.

Rihanna scores in two big ways this week. She scores another week with two singles in the Top 10: "Only Girl" at #8, and "What's My Name" at #10. The latter also reaches Gold certification this week, with 301 points. She is third artist to have two Gold singles (after Kylie and Katy Perry).

BWU SINGLES TOP 10:

  1. Better Than Today - Kylie Minogue (+11)
  2. Someone Wake Me Up - Joe McElderry (-1)
  3. What The Hell - Avril Lavigne (+19)
  4. More - Usher (+1)
  5. All of the Lights - Kanye West (-2)
  6. The Silence - Alexandra Burke (-2)
  7. Poison - Nicole Scherzinger (+4)
  8. Only Girl (In The World) - Rihanna (-1)
  9. Promise This - Cheryl Cole (-3)
  10. What's My Name? - Rihanna and Drake (-)

Download of the Day 1/03: Higher by Taio Cruz featuring Kylie Minogue

Can Kylie help Taio Cruz get "higher"
 on his latest track?
Taio Cruz has exploded unlike any other male pop star today. With his dancefloor ready hits like "Break Your Heart" and "Dynamite", Cruz has easily dominated both sides of the pond.

To kick off the new year right, he is releasing a new single called "Higher". Originally a solo effort, Cruz enlisted the help of two music stars and reworked the track into a duet for it's release. America gets a remix featuring Travie McCoy, while the rest of the world gets the version with Australian pop queen Kylie Minogue.

This here, people, is why I despise global music industry politics.

As you would expect from someone who chose "Get Outta My Way" as my #1 single of 2010, I much prefer Kylie's version, even though the success of both versions is virtually guaranteed. Kylie, with her slinky vocals, adds a layer of sex appeal to the song, which make the song a lot more interesting. The song itself is typical Taio Cruz fare with pulsating, pumping beats, although the song is a lot funkier and cooler in the verses.

It's not one of Cruz's best tracks (that title is still reserved for "Dynamite"), but the addition of Kylie gives the song a huge boost into single-ready territory.

Kylie Kraziness! Music Video Sneak Peek and America's Got Talent Performance!

Kylie Minogue has been pretty busy lately as she ramps up promo for her new album Aphrodite, especially in the United States!

First in Minogue news, the pop diva has released an itty bitty sneak peek of the video for "Get Outta My Way", the new single. From the looks of it, it appears to be a cross between "Slow" and "Wow". No word on when it will be released, but hopefully soon.

Speaking of the new single, Kylie has officially launched the promo for the US by performing "Get Outta My Way" on America's Got Talent this past Wednesday. Energetic as hell, and with a backdrop of her video catalog, Kylie completely owned the stage. Hopefully, her label will get an adds date to radio, because this aching to be her biggest hit in years.

BWU Singles Chart Roundup 8/16: Kylie Reclaims #1, Robyn Bounces Back

Kylie Minogue has taken back the #1 spot this week.

"Get Outta My Way", which debuted at #1 six weeks ago, has shot back up to the top from #4, dethroning Robyn's "Hang With Me", currently sitting at #3. Kylie has the most weeks at #1 as an artist so far, with five. Her other #1 "All The Lovers", which moves up one spot to #11, loses it's tie for most weeks in the top 10 to Lady Gaga's "Alejandro", which moves up to #10 and spends a ninth week within the Top 10. Despite that, "All The Lovers" is the first single to score 300 chart points, garnering her the first Gold certification.

Nicki Minaj isn't far behind Kylie, with "Your Love" moving up to #2 with 251 points. Also moving up one spot is Usher's "Hot Toddy" to #4, and Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over" to #5. Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" falls four spots to #6 this week.

Despite losing another week at #1, Robyn sees a massive comeback with "Dancing On My Own", which jumps 9 spots up to #7.

Two re-entries this week: Rihanna's "Rockstar 101" enters at #16, while Kanye West's "Power" enters at #25. The sole new entry of the week is Taylor Swift's new single "Mine" at #30.

Brandon's Best of....Top Singles of 2010 So Far

Okay, so the halfway point of 2010 was last month, but as the summer winds down and I head back to college in a few weeks, I thought now would be a great time to list my favorite songs of 2010 so far (well, since the end of July). Luckily for me, this was pretty easy.

First, because I realized there were lots of songs I loved, here is my #20 - #11:
20. Breakeven (Falling To Pieces) - The Script
19. I Like It - Enrique Iglesias
18. Crossfire - Brandon Flowers
17. Memories - David Guetta featuring Kid Cudi
16. I Got You - Leona Lewis
15. Ego - The Saturdays
14. Missing You - The Saturdays
13. Hands Tied - Toni Braxton
12. Need You Now - Lady Antebellum
11. Your Love - Nicki Minaj

Now, for the Top 10:

10. Airplanes - B.O.B featuring Hayley Williams
I mostly skipped over his first single with Bruno Mars, so his second single with Paramore's frontwoman is what really got me interested. Between the effortlessness of the chorus and the true lyrics about wishing for a simpler life, "Airplanes" was clear evidence that hip hop could be more than sparse beats and lame rhymes about money and swag.

9. OMG - Usher feat. will.i.am
Was it a sellout move? Usher went the electropop route on his album Raymond v. Raymond, teaming up with BEP frontman will.i.am. Instead of playing like a cheap trick, it was one of the hottest songs of the year, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and saving what would have been a flop era. While it didn't push boundaries with it's lyrics (Boobies? Are we twelve?) but it did remind everyone why Usher was once the biggest male popstar since MJ.

The background is mostly neutral though there are several brown horizontal stripes. In the foregrand stands a woman wearing a pastel yellow sleeveless dress with colored and beaded detail. She is stood sideways and on the arm nearest toward the front sits a silver bangle. The woman is styled with a large perm whilst her other hand holds a military hat to her head.
8. Commander - Kelly Rowland
Who knew she had it in her? After the worldwide (a.k.a, outside of the US) success of "When Love Takes Over" last year, the former Destiny's Child member teamed up with David Guetta for "Commander", a full-stop dance-pop smash, instant on first listen. For reasons that are beyond me, she didn't release it to radio in the States, just as the dance-pop fever hit full force.

7. Dancing On My Own - Robyn
The Swedish dance diva delivered a sweet treat for her first single from Body Talk Pt. 1. With it's mournful lyrics paired with pulsating, somber beats, "Dancing on My Own" embodied everyone's fear of lost love and loneliness while on the dancefloor.

6. Love The Way You Lie - Eminem featuring Rihanna
Domestic violence isn't supposed to sound this good. The two music superstars teamed up on a surprisingly personal, visceral, and accessible duet about the truth behind abusive relationships. Currently #1 on the charts, it goes to show that lyrical honesty can make for an amazing pop tune. Plus, Rihanna plus rappers is always guaranteed gold.

5. Find Your Love - Drake
Last year, he set the pop world on fire. This year, he fanned the flames. "Find Your Love" was an unexpected turn for the Canadian rapper. It was sharp, yet sensitive. Pulsing, yet melodic. Fierce, yet tender. Of course, that's because of Kanye's excellent production and Drake's great vocal performance. It made for a true blue pop hit for him and the confirmation that he may be the future of hip-hop.

4. California Gurls - Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg
Pegged as the West Coast answer to "Empire State of Mind", Katy snatched the summer with what may become her signature hit. It's bouncy electropop sound, the cute and clever lyrics, and an excellent cameo from Snoop made this song a #1 hit throughout the dog days of summer. Even with the sweltering heat, Katy made us wish we were all chillin' on the beach, melted popsicles and all.

3. Alejandro - Lady Gaga
So maybe the macabré video killed the vibe of the song a bit, but "Alejandro" was one of the highlights of an album full of them, The Fame Monster. It's ABBA-esque charm and it's tale of unwanted desire made it an excellent soundtrack to the summer. It also showed that seven singles into her career, she shows no sign of stopping her effortless domination of pop music.

In the upper left corner, a woman with long wavy blond hair holds up her right hand with her index finger extended. On her head, is a headdress made of several blue dials. She wears a white frock over her shoulders. In the lower right corner, a dusky complexioned woman with long wavy brown hair, looks towards the camera. She wears a blue military coat with gold tassles on the shoulders. In the upper right corner, the words "Lady Gaga" in red, "and" in white, and "Beyoncé" in orange are written in a rounded cursive font. In the lower left corner, the words "in" and "Telephone" are both in that same font in white.
2. Telephone - Lady Gaga and Beyoncé
What happens when you put two of the biggest female singer in the world on one track? Um, how about dancefloor heaven? Okay, so not all the time, but the unstoppable duo's second try together yielded much sweeter fruit. Thrown in a colorful, Tarantino-styled music video and you have a pop juggernaut on your hands.

1. All The Lovers - Kylie Minogue
I had been waiting for this song before I even knew I was waiting for it. The Aussie pop princess threw out the baggage of 2007's X and came back with an absolutely epic first single. Part teary-eyed, part euphoric release, and part dancefloor stomper, "All The Lovers" was a goddess send (the album is called Aphrodite after all). After only three months, it is only the eighth song ever to have over 400 plays in my iTunes. It also made me rabid for two months until the release of her equally as epic new album. Kylie is back!

JLS and Kylie Top The UK Charts

Kylie Minogue has scored her fifth #1 album in the United Kingdom with Aphrodite.

The UK music charts, which was released today, show Kylie beating Eminem, which falls to #2 in its second week. It is the pop superstar's first #1 album in the UK since 2001's Fever. 2007's X peaked at #4. Her other #1 albums are Kylie, Enjoy Yourself, and Greatest Hits.

The news isn't so hot over the singles chart, where "All The Lovers" slides down to #9 on the chart. Topping the UK Singles Chart is X Factor boyband JLS, with their new single "Club Is Alive". The song topped the iTunes chart within 24 hours, almost guaranteeing a #1 debut. This is their fourth consecutive top 10 singles and third #1 single, after "Beat Again" and "Everybody in Love".

Aphrodite is expected to debut in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 this week, which make it her most successful chart album since Fever.

Download of the Day 7/6: "Get Outta My Way" by Kylie Minogue

Today, Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue releases her new album Aphrodite here in the United States, and it only felt right to honor with it.

Of course, it just happened to work out perfectly that my favorite song off of the album will be the second single, possibly released in September.

"Get Outta My Way", as I mentioned in my review of Aphrodite, is the juiced-up love child of her previous hits singles "Wow" and "Love At First Sight". Yet, instead of being awestruck by her lover, she promptly tells him to buzz off as she moves on to a guy who can better hold her attention. Only Kylie could pull off being both bitchy and irresistibly charming as she taunts her lover with this lyrical gem: "see me with him and it's turning you on". It also helps that the song is backed by some bouncy, bright production that matches Kylie's slinky vocals perfectly. Basically, it's the most fun you'll probably have listening to any song this summer, or fall, or maybe even winter. In fact, through Spring 2011 in there for good measure, this song is multi-season.

"Get Outta My Way" just goes to show that you should never count Kylie out for the count, because she will "show you what she's made of".

Album Review: Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite

An album, movie, or television show worthy of special notice.
File:Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite.jpg
Kylie revives pure pop with Aphrodite
When news first came out about Australian pop queen Kylie Minogue's new album came out, I was excited. Scratch that, I was ecstatic. Then "All The Lovers" was released, and I kind of completely lost my shit. For the next month or so, I have been impatiently waiting for her album to leak. After a megamix of six songs was released about three weeks ago, I was at the point of literally ripping my hair out in anticipation.

Well, it finally leaked, and my heart finally returned to normal rhythm. Until I started listening to the songs. It took me a while to fully conceive of what I was listening to, but I am finally ready to render my verdict.

Here is a track-by-track review of Aphrodite:

** Indicates a KEY TRACK

The first song also serves as the album's lead single, "All The Lovers"**. It was a hell of a single choice and an album opener, setting the tone for the whole CD. With it's ethereal, romantic, and slightly melancholic sound, Kylie's enchanting vocals, and that epic breakdown in the middle eight, it is easily the best record Kylie has put out since 2001's ubiquitous "Can't Get You Out of My Head". Rating: 10 out of 10.

If Kylie was begging her lover to dance into the fire in "All The Lovers", then "Get Outta My Way"** is her kicking him right into the flames and moving on. It is the most single-worthy track on the album, as well as being the most obvious one, thanks to it's bouncy energy reminiscent of "Love at First Sight" and "Wow". Actually, if those two songs had a baby and then the baby was pumped with steroids, this would be the result. And what an amazing love child it is. Rating: 10 out of 10.

If you haven't figured it out by now, Kylie's album is a big ole' bundle of joy, and "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)" is definitely the centerpiece of that message. It's in the title, for God's sake. This song leans a bit closer to "Love At First Sight" than the previous track, while frankly lacking all of the explosive energy. That said, it's a very synthy, very bouncy song that will make hard to keep your hands at your sides on the dancefloor. Rating: 8 out of 10

There are no ballads on Aphrodite, but Kylie does slow the tempo down a tad bit, starting with "Closer". It's an ominous, sensual, enchantingly robotic midtempo track about, well, bringing someone closer in. Kylie may want to offer masterclasses on how to use the vocal chords to seduce the listener, because there are quite a few pop stars who could use a lesson. Or, she could use her prowess to take over the world. Whichever is easier. Rating: 8 out of 10.

"Everything is Beautiful" is an appropriate title for this song, because next to "All The Lovers", it is the only other song I could label as beautiful. It's another midtempo song, but winds and grooves in a way that you might be inclined to take a nap in a bevy of clouds, before realizing that trying to do that would most certainly result in the ending of your life. Okay, so maybe the title is a bit misleading, but it is definitely a gorgeous track. Rating: 8 out of 10

"Can you feel me on the stereo?" Kylie sings throughout the title track "Aphrodite"**, and the answer is hell yes! This is a punchy pop anthem, driven by military-styled drums. Kylie warns us all that she is not one to be messed with, because she is, among other things, fearsome, mighty, a golden girl, and of course the Greek goddess of love. For all purposes, this is Kylie telling the younger girls that X does not mean she's down for the count, and that she runs this. I can't say I disagree. Rating: 9 out of 10.

Kylie is all confused and stuff about love on "Illusion", another closest-thing-to-a-ballad on the album. While not as driving as "Aphrodite", the beats on this song are still very strong, making it easy to groove to during a dance break (another thing you might not have realized yet; this album will be the playlist for all the clubs come July 6th). It's pleasant, sure, but there isn't much else to say about it. One of the weak points of the record. Of course, that isn't saying a lot. Rating: 7 out of 10.

"Better Than Today" is the album's most unexpected track on the record. Musically, it doesn't really sound like anything else, but it has the happy message and everything. It's a very positive song that seems to borrow it's style from Madonna's "Don't Tell Me". It's surprisingly laid-back guitar-styled for a glittery pop princess, but you can't blamed the girl for trying something new (let's just forget about Impossible Princess, ok?). Rating: 7.5 out of 10

The all-out dancing starts again with the irresistible, irrepressible, pop tornado called "Too Much"**. The song is the much-hyped collaboration with Calvin Harris, and the results were extremely successful. With it's bright and shiny production, outlined with some dark, sizzling electro buzzes, you have to be moving when this song comes on. If you can't even get a toe tapping, you might want to head to a doctor because you might be dead. Rating: 10 out of 10.

"Cupid Boy" is an enigma to me. For one, it has cutesy Kylie (which should really be an oxymoron) on full display, yet there is something about the production that screams dirty, like make out session in the darker end of the club, dirty. It's also kind of odd to be directly after "Too Much", which was such a dance cracker, while this is a bit quieter. Not my favorite from the album, but definitely solid. It might just grow on me. Rating: 7 out of 10.

Why would a goddess be looking for an angel? I guess even the goddess of love gets lonely sometimes, as the ethereal "Looking for an Angel" would suggest. It's very romantic and teary-eyed (and, as Popjustice would say, worthy of a Kylie moment), but it sounds as if "All The Lovers" was re-done by the God's pop producers. Nothing against God's pop producers or anything, it's just another that just doesn't have the huge wallop of the other songs on the album for me. Rating: 7 out of 10.

So, we've cried, we've laughed, we've gotten a bit of an attitude, and we've danced our butts off. How does Kylie finish off this album? With more happy dancing, duh! "Can't Beat The Feeling"** is the purest, happiest moment on the entire album, and again, follows that euphoric theme to the letter. While I have listened to the album back to back three times and haven't (yet), I wouldn't blame someone if they got a bit emotional during this song, especially going into the middle eight. Honestly, it's like a cathartic release, which is just what Kylie intended. Rating: 9.5 out of 10

ALBUM RATING: 9 OUT OF 10

FINAL THOUGHTS
All she wants us to do is dance, and she succeeded. Kylie Minogue has delivered the most fantastic pop album of the year so far. It is also the best album Kylie has released in years, probably since Fever. The listening experience of this album can only be described as euphoric, joyful, and riddled with boundless energy. There is never a dull moment on this album, and even if there is a slight lull, it is quickly correct with an absolute smash. I'm sincerely hoping that Astralwerks (her label in America) promotes the hell out of this album, because this could be her ticket to the pop glory that has unfairly eluded her in the States. As for the rest of the world, you really should expect nothing less from the Goddess of Pop (hey, I'm just going by the title).

Aphrodite is released in most of Europe on July 5th and the United States on July 6th. BUY THIS ALBUM (I am, the deluxe edition)!

Kylie's "All The Lovers": Remixed

Remix group Fear of Tigers has spun Kylie's smash hit "All The Lovers" around a bit, and I gotta say, it's kind of astonishingly brilliant, in an amazing sort of way.

British music blog Popjustice has posted the remix, from SoundCloud, on their website, and now its here for your enjoyment:

Download of the Day 5/15: "All The Lovers" by Kylie Minogue

If this song isn't a hit in America, I swear I'm moving to Europe after college.

For weeks now, the pop music world has been waiting with bated breath for Kylie Minogue's new single "All The Lovers", off of her 11th studio album Aphrodite. Yesterday, Miss Minogue dropped it off at BBC Radio 1 for its first official play.

And everyone proceeded to lose their shit.

"All The Lovers" is a truly spectacular track, one of the best Kylie has ever recorded. Building off the back of 2005's "I Believe In You", the single is a mixture of sadness, seduction, euphoria, and high danceability, which is what a Kylie song is really about. It also has her most identifiable hook since "Can't Get You Out of My Head". Then there is the spectacular breakdown that she teased us with last month, which makes a lot more sense in context of the song.

This song screams "worldwide smash", and if US radio can't get down with this (but somehow can find love for Ke$ha), then there is simply no hope for pop music in the States.

Even if it doesn't make a dent on the charts, who cares? Proper Kylie is back with the song of the summer (sorry Katy)!

In Case You Didn't Know, Kylie's "All The Lovers" Is The Year's Best Single You Haven't Heard In Full

A good portion of Kylie Minogue's upcoming single "All The Lovers" was leaked in ridiculously low quality today. Despite the LQ, it is clear that this song may just be one of the year's best.

And hopefully the song that will finally break her sexy ass into America.

Here is the clip:

And, as a treat, here is a picture of Kylie filming the video in LA:

Speaking of Kylie Minogue, The Aphrodite Cover Is Epic

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2NKziv1s6zPyW5TwT1L-LHP_yqsHK1dJFNgyRw1mJvR89eCOl0kzM92HmlZzcSy0io6PbZHzk5A325k6tAhOJAyScL5vqbGDGU-ODCfz0Ly197ReYj26hyphenhyphenbasrb3kjG6-3Srpe1AxPegR/s1600/Kylie+Aphrodite+All+Lovers.jpg
For many people, Kylie Minogue is a princess of pop.

By the looks of the cover of her eleventh studio album Aphrodite, she's claiming a title a wee bit higher: goddess.

And you know what? It works. Very well.

Aphrodite is due for release on July 5th, while the lead single "All The Lovers" will be out a week earlier, June 28th.

Hidden Gems: "Word Is Out" by Kylie Minogue

This past week, Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue set pop hearts a-flutter with news of her new album Aphrodite and its preceding single "All The Lovers". Unfortunately, the single isn't out until June, which is two months away (although it will surely leak before then),

For those impatient Pattys who are craving anything Kylie, I have the perfect Hidden Gem for you!

Kylie's 1991 album Let's Get To It was her last with the Stock Aitken Waterman production house that made her a megastar. Even though it saw middling chart success, it shouldn't be written off. A perfect reason why is "Word Is Out", the album's lead single. Shockingly, the song sputtered out at #16, breaking an unprecedented run of 13 Top 10 singles from the beginning of her career. It must been unreasonable Kylie backlash that lead to its failure, because the song should've been a bonafide smash. It is a seamless blend of new jack swing and dance-pop, seasoned with Kylie's surprisingly soulful voice. It's also surprising that Kylie didn't try taking this to the US, considering how popular NJS was in the early 90s, thanks mostly in part to Teddy Riley. While Kylie would be most famous as a dancefloor queen, this classic also serves as a reminder that she could crank out a cool jam too.

The Clear Your Head Series: "What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before)" by Kylie Minogue

My life has been extremely stressful lately. Whenever I'm stressed, I tend to escape into music, finding something to take the edge off.

That has inspired a new music review series at BWU, titled "Clear Your Head". The songs featured in this series are simply perfect for taking you away from life's difficulties for awhile. They may not offer complete answers, but sometimes we just need some solitude to regroup, right?

A song like Kylie Minogue's "What Kind of Fool" is perfect for such a purpose.

“What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before)” coverThe song was released in 1992, off of her first Greatest Hits package. Considering past and future hits, the song was pretty much a flop. Kylie even admitted in a recent interview that she didn't like it.

So, what's it good for?

"What Kind of Fool" is actually a perfect song for clearing the recesses of a troubled mind. Like much of her early music, this song is clear, straight-through bubblegum pop. It's a sickeningly happy record that is pretty easy to fit into a DJ's 90's throwback playlist. It's lyrics are empowering, making it all the more danceable. Kylie's voice on the song is typical: innocent but indomitable somehow. Essentially, it's a generic PWL track that probably should've been chucked out the window, but the mindless fluff of "What Kind of Fool" is endearing enough to warrant a listen.

Soon after a few more spins on repeat, the song will have completely erased the troubles from the mind. Like a duster, the jumpy synths and Kylie's happy voice sweep away the troubles, leaving a happy feeling in its wake. It may not last as long as you would hope, but it's an escapist song; an audio aspirin.

We all need one once in awhile.

Classic Download of the Day 1/20 (Inaugural Edition): "Step Back In Time" by Kylie Minogue

DOWNLOAD OF THE DAY: INAUGURAL EDITION (CONGRATS PRESIDENT OBAMA!)
Barack Obama

One of the major themes of President Obama's historic inaugural speech was the past.

Whether it was examining how far we've come as a country or suggesting we look to history to find inspiration for the future, Obama made it clear that is was necessary to "step back in time".

So, today's special inaugural edition of Download of the Day features a song all about the past, "Step Back In Time" by Kylie Minogue.

“Step Back in Time” coverReleased in 1990 from her huge Rhythm of Love record, Kylie wishes for the musical days of old, when the O'Jays traveled around on the love train and people walked in rhythm. The Stock Aiken Waterman production brought Kylie to disco for the first time, and God bless them for it. The song, which mixes 70's with a dash of 90's house, is an irresistible, club-filling, pop smash that would get even the McCains on the dancefloor (can you imagine John McCain doing the hustle?).

While some look down on Kylie's time with PWL, it's hard to ignore the fizzy pop fun that the era delivered.

I think we should listen to the sage advice of Obama and Minogue and embrace the past, whether it delivers answers to our economic problems or gets us to party.

Here is the 1990 music video:
