BWU Singles Chart Roundup 1/10: Kylie Lands Third #1

Kylie Minogue has scored her third #1 on the BWU Singles Chart.

Kylie's #1...again!
In an incredibly slow chart week due to the lack of new releases, Kylie leaps from #12 to #1 with "Better Than Today", the third single from Aphrodite. She is the first artist to have three #1 singles as a solo artist, and the first artist to have three #1 singles from one album. She also sets the record for the longest time to hit #1, which was nine weeks. With her three #1 singles, she has spent an amazing 11 weeks atop of the BWU Singles Chart.

In other Kylie chart news, her duet with Taio Cruz, "Higher", also sees a huge bump up to #12 from #26.

Joe McElderry's "Someone Wake Me Up" slips one spot to #2. Avril Lavigne, who debuted last week at #22 after only a day of release, explodes up to #3 on the chart with "What The Hell". Cheryl Cole's "The Flood" falls out of the top 10, down to #11 from #2. Meanwhile, "Promise This", now in its fourteenth week at four points away from the 400 point mark, holds on at #9. Nicole Scherzinger continues her rebound, hitting a new peak of #7 with "Poison".

Train re-enter the chart at #24 with "Marry Me", while the highest and only debut of the week is Nicki Minaj's "Moment 4 Life", featuring Drake, at #28.

Rihanna scores in two big ways this week. She scores another week with two singles in the Top 10: "Only Girl" at #8, and "What's My Name" at #10. The latter also reaches Gold certification this week, with 301 points. She is third artist to have two Gold singles (after Kylie and Katy Perry).
