UNBELIEVABLE! Two Cannibal Stories In ONE WEEK!

With summer in full gear (at least for college students like myself), it's time for the craziest of news stories to make its way to the mainstream.

Well it doesn't get crazier than cannibalism, right?

Within days of each other, two reports have been made about some person, clearly out of their mind, consuming human flesh or body parts. The stories are so horrifying that even Hannibal Lector himself would probably recoil.

The cannibal craze began in Miami, when police shot dead a naked young man who was eating the face of a homeless man. He actually ate off his face, as in the man has no face left at all, if the leaked pictures are anything to go by (I won't bother reposting them; just Google it and try not to vomit). The naked man was apparently high off a powerful form of LSD, which made him immune to pain and common sense. What's even worse about this story is that the man who had his face eaten off is still alive, without a face. Doctors at the Miami hospital are reportedly struggling to figure out how to repair the damage.

Now, just a few hours ago, a student at Morgan State University in Baltimore was arrested for murdering his roommate and eating his heart and parts of his brain. The rest of his body was reportedly thrown in the trash. The student was arrested when his father called the police after finding the roommate's remains.

Seriously, these stories are freaking me out. Cannibalism is something that should be left to movies, never real life!

CNN's Don Lemon Reveals Childhood Sex Abuse On Air

CNN anchor Don Lemon stunned viewers this past weekend when he revealed that he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.

Lemon was interviewing three members of Bishop Eddie Long's church Saturday night about allegations of sexual abuse involving him and four teenage men when he shared the startling secret. During the live broadcast, Lemon said his attention was caught when the men all had the same story about their abuse, which was apparently similar to his own abuse. It was the first time he has spoken about his abuse publicly and that he hadn't even told his mother until he was 30 years old.

Despite his revelation and his questions to the bishop's supporters about his innocence, Lemon insisted that they stand by him, while keeping an eye open.

After his admission, Lemon was flooded with responses from Twitter and Facebook, to which he responded: "Thank you all for your kind words. I had no idea I'd say that on national tv. It just came out. Sadly, it's the truth for so many young men".

I, for one, commend Don Lemon's bravery and strength in conducting the interview considering his past, and for sharing such a tragic element of his childhood in order to inspire others suffering in similar ways.

Leona Lewis Assaulted at UK Book Signing!

British pop star Leona Lewis was a victim of a senseless attack during a book signing in London.

The singer was at Waterstones bookstore signing copies of her book Dreams when a man came up to her and assaulted her in the face. Conflicted reports claim she was either punched or slapped. The signing was immediately canceled and Leona left the store in tears. The man was quickly arrested.

Did Dr. Murray FALL ASLEEP Giving Michael Jackson Death-Inducing Propofol?

 

Stunning revelations continue to be leaked in the weeks after Michael Jackson's shocking death, including how King of Pop's last hours were.

What may shock and enrage Michael's fans is the latest news coming from the Los Angeles Police Department. According to TMZ.com, speaking with multiple police sources, Dr. Conrad Murray, the "doctor" who was with him at the time of his death, admitted to police that he had administered Propofol to the singer hours before he died. He made this admission on June 27th, two days after Michael was declared dead. If you remember, there were reports that Murray had abandoned his car and essentially went missing in the immediate aftermath of Michael's passing.

The shockers don't stop there. The police, trying to piece together this sad story, are convinced that Murray was negligent in administering the extremely powerful anesthetic drug, which is used only in hospitals. It is even believed that, while the drug was continually being pumped in Michael's veins, Murray was asleep in his own room at Michael's rented L.A. mansion. While the doctor was allegedly asleep, the King of Pop's heart stopped beating as he went into cardiac arrest.

By the time paramedics arrived, Michael was dead and reportedly unrecognizable to them.

Murray's administration of the Propofol violated virtually every medical guideline. For one, Michael's vitals should have been monitored by either an EKG to watch his heart or a pulse oximeter to check his blood oxygen levels. Neither machine was present in the home. 

Murray's horrifyingly unprofessional behavior regarding Michael's health has been well-documented in the past month. Murray, apparently in shock, didn't call 911 for a half hour after he found an unresponsive Michael in bed. He practiced CPR, but not on a hard surface, as is protocol.

Court papers have named Murray as a suspect in the investigation that has been labeled manslaughter.

Did Chris Brown Get Off Too Easy?

R&B singer Chris Brown can breathe a sigh of relief today; he will
avoid jail time for assaulting his pop star ex Rihanna before the
Grammys. Instead, he will do community service in his home state of
Virginia, be on probation for five years, stay 50 yards away from
Rihanna, and be officially recognized as a felon. That is thanks to
his hotshot celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos, who struck a plea bargain
before today's hearing, which was supposed to see Rihanna testify.

I'm sure Breezy's fans are cheering in the streets right now, but did
he really deserve the leniency for such a serious assault. He already
has been let off by a majority of the media, his fans, and
celebrities, and there are some who thought he would finally receive
"justice" in the eyes of the law.

Honestly, while Chris does deserve a little more than garbage cleanup
and som anger management classes, I'm not particularly for him in the
slammer. My hope is that he gets SERIOUS help for his anger issues
(therapy seems like a necessity at this point) and learns from his
major mistake. I know he is, but he should consider this a serious
gift. He should also focus his energies on his new album, which is due
later this year.

Of course, through that, we'll see how many people really support him.

Scotland's Secret Shame: Outrageous Acts of Animal Cruelty

The picture is so shocking and disturbing, that I won't repost it on this blog.

The picture I speak of is a dog from Scotland, tied to a fence and deliberately starved to death.

Some monstrous sicko tied an innocent dog to a barbed wire fence in the middle of the Scottish woodlands and left her there to die. The dog was found last month, tragically emaciated and in early stages of decomposure. Later examination from the Scottish SPCA showed he dog attempted to remain nourished by eating wood and soil near its death spot.

But this isn't the only case of animal cruelty in Scotland. According the SPCA, 126,000 emergency callouts were made to help victimized animals in 2008 alone, a 20% increase from 2007.

The Scottish Sun has launched a campaign to fight the perpetrators of such horrific violence after their published picture of the dead dog inspired global outrage.

FBI Launches Investigation Over Wolverine Film Leak

Yesterday, an "incomplete and early version" of the highly anticipated film X Men Origins: Wolverine was leaked to the Internet, inciting both fury over at 20th Century Fox and an FBI investigation.

The film, not due for US release until May 1st, was posted on various file-sharing websites yesterday. 20th Century Fox, the studio distributing the movie, confirmed that the copy has been removed.

The Hugh Jackman flick leak has caused so much outrage that now, the FBI is launching an investigation. A spokesperson from the studio said about the investigation: "The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Those who haven't seen the leaked version aren't missing much. According to BBC News, the leaked version was missing scenes, sounds, music, and the crucial CGI effects.

The Reason Why Chris Brown Is Banned From This Blog Until Further Notice

TMZ.com has released a picture of Rihanna's extremely visible injuries sustained by Chris Brown's attack.

When I first saw them, I couldn't speak.

It's unfathomable that someone who has portrayed himself as an upstanding human being could be responsible for this:

As of right now, Chris Brown is done in my book. Neither him nor his music will be featured on this blog unless it pertains to the domestic violence case, effective immediately.

Fans of Chris Brown, if you defend this, after seeing this pictures, I suggest you follow Brown's statement and get some therapy, because clearly you don't understand the seriousness of violence of this scale, and that is inexcusable, almost as much as Brown's actions.

My thoughts are with Rihanna as she recovers from this tragic ordeal.

Sunday Feature: The Chris Brown/Rihanna Aftermath: What He MUST Do

Hello readers!

After a 10-month hiatus, in honor of my blog-aversary, I have decided to revive my Sunday Feature post. If you aren't aware of what that is, it is the post where I deliver my full opinion on any major event or issue that occurred over the past week. It's my way of saying my peace on the subject and moving on to the next week. To start off, I decided to cover the Chris Brown/Rihanna scandal thios week. Don't forget to check back every Sunday for the Sunday Feature.

It has been a full week since the alleged Chris Brown/Rihanna altercation was first reported.

Since then, there have been cover-ups, emerging details every hour, celebrity reactions, and most interesting of all, fan outrage, defense, and denial.

What we have yet to hear is the full story from the two people who truly know: Chris and Rihanna themselves.

We do know that something serious did happen; there is too much evidence to ignore it. He surrendered to the LAPD, he was charged with a felony, Rihanna was in the hospital, and apparently both have left LA to be with their loved ones. What is up to interpretation is how serious the injuries were and what caused the altercation in the first place.

Still, with all of the confusing, conflicting details, the impact this story can and should have is undeniable.

Chris and Rihanna are two of the biggest pop stars in the world. They have millions of fans in many countries. Their profile is as high as a celebrity in this day and age can get. And they are embroiled in an serious domestic violence situation that could possibly wreck one's career. As tragic as the situation is, it brings to light the relevance that domestic abuse has to young people. As the couple proved, you do not have to be old or married to be in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship.

The implications of this situation makes what both say all the more important, particular Chris. As Carrie Underwood told US Weekly about the numerous rumors, "you hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous". This situation needs clarity, and since Chris is the alleged perpetrator and least emotional of the two, I think it would be appropriate to have him speak on the situation.

In speaking, he needs to make sure these three elements exist: realism, humility, and genuine regret over his alleged actions.

In terms of realism, Chris's statement has to be his. It cannot be some carefully worded, vague, and empty statement from his publicist. That would work in situations like drug use, where he could say he participated in "behavior that was inappropriate". This is a case of violence against women, and considering his large fanbase is mostly made up of young women, he particularly has to speak to them, from the heart. It is possible that these young girls have experienced abuse in their lives and look to Chris Brown for hope. How would it look to have him deliver some trite statement to those impressionable young girls? It is bad enough that their hero abused anyone, but then he's not man enough to make his own statement?

Humility is an absolute must, and any kind of cockiness will not only render the statement useless, it will further tarnish his image. He must show that he isn't a complete ass and that he really is the sweet, nice kid that people still have a hard time believing would do this. There cannot be any posturing or attempts to gain street cred from this. In his statement, he needs to appear sorry for his actions and grateful for the blind support he still receives from some of his fans. If he even thinks about pulling some "I'm a G, I know how to keep a woman in line" misogynistic crap, he is done.

Then, there is genuine regret. What he did was WRONG, and if he does not understand that, then maybe a stint in jail will straighten him out. In his statement, he needs to acknowledge that what he did was unequivocally unacceptable, regardless of what his die-hard fans try to say. There is no whitewashing this incident, sweeping it under a rug and hoping it goes away. Look what happened to his idol Michael Jackson, and there was no finite evidence of any wrongdoing in that case. Despite his alleged attack on Rihanna, he needs to be a man and face this problem head on. He cannot flee from this like he did that night, unless he wants to lose everything and become a pariah.

Finally, the most important part of this statement. He needs to tell the TRUTH. While employing all of these elements, he must essentially tell us what the hell happened between the two of them. What caused the altercation? Why did he feel the need to abuse Rihanna? Why did he leave her there instead of calling the police or 911? Is this the first time the abuse has taken place? He really needs to answer these questions and clear the air, not just for his sake, but for the sake of his adoring fans.

What continues from there can only be determined by what he says and the public's reaction to it. If he follows the aforementioned advice, Chris's career can be recovered to a level lower, but acceptable, than he was before. If he lacks one or more of the elements above, more than likely than fans will turn on him. If he says nothing at all, then the situation is completely out of hands as TMZ continues to report on "horrific" details of that night.

At the end of the day, only he and Rihanna know what happens, so, despite his reportedly heinous actions, he should be at least granted the right to explain himself. How he does will determine the rest of both of their careers.

Chris Brown Assaults Rihanna, Kills Career

Yesterday's Grammy ceremony was overshadowed with a brewing scandal involving two of its biggest stars.

R&B star Chris Brown, who Billboard Magazine named the Top Artist of 2008, allegedly assualted Rihanna after Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy gala around 12:30 AM PST. According to police reports, the victim, who is believed to be the pop princess, had visible bruises and named Brown as her attacker. Rihanna was reportedly at Cedars-Senai Medical Center during the ceremony, where she and her former beau were supposed to perform their chart-topping hits. According to different reports, Rihanna had a black eye.

Chris Brown turned himself into the police during the ceremony, at 6:30 pm PST, and he was officially charged for committing a felony and his bail was set at $50,000, which he paid.

Frankly, I don't care what the situation was between the two of them. I was raised not to lay a hand on a woman. What Chris Brown did was inexcusable, and its made even worse that the victim is one of the world's biggest pop stars. It is guaranteed that the media will MASSACRE Brown, which he deserves plus more, and I wouldn't be surprised, in fact I would be offended, if Chris Brown never truly recovers from this incident. Thankfully, Rihanna will.

Jennifer Hudson's Nephew Found Dead In Stolen Car

The worst has been confirmed.

The FBI has revealed that Julian King, Jennifer Hudson's 7-year old nephew, is dead. His body was found in the rear seat of an SUV. He reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including at least one to the head

Jennifer reportedly identified the body.

This is one of the most shocking, tragic events I have ever heard of. It's disgusting, and I hope whoever is responsible rots in hell for eternity.

Again, my condolences are extended to Jennifer, Julia, and the whole of the Hudson family at such an unspeakable time.

Suspect Caught In Hudson Murders

William Balfour, the man suspected of killing Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother yesterday, has been arrested but not charged.

He is reportedly not cooperating with police, and won't tell them the whereabouts of the still-missing nephew Julian.

His mother, Michelle Davis Balfour, has made a plea to allow her to see her son.

Balfour, according to his MySpace page, is married to Julia Hudson, Jennifer's sister. He also mentions a connection to Jennifer on his profile. On his mood, he set it to "Forgotten", leaving one to wonder whether feelings of neglect were somehow involved in this tragedy.

It's also been clarified that Julia herself was the one to discover the bodies, and she called police.

Absolutely horrific.

Jennifer Hudson's Mother and Brother Murdered

This news is absolutely devastating to hear.

Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were shot and killed by an unknown assailant today in their home in Chicago. Hudson's mother, 57-year old Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were found dead at 7019 South Yale Road in the Englewood area of Chicago. The bodies were reportedly found by a cousin who lived close by. Police officials believe the murders to be of a domestic matter.

Police are also looking for Hudson's nephew Julian King, who could have been kidnapped from the scene. They put out an Amber Alert, and are looking for a 1994 white Suburban SUV with the license plate X584859.

If ANYONE has ANY information about this horrific murder, please contact Chicago police as soon as possible.

My heart goes out to Jennifer, who is reportedly flying from Tampa to Chicago.

UPDATE (As of 9:54 pm): More news is coming in regarding the Jennifer Hudson incident. The suspected murderer/kidnapper's name is William Balfour, the ex-husband of Jennifer's sister Julia. He is reportedly armed and very dangerous. Julia has also gone missing, after doing a shift as a bus driver in Chicago.
