R&B king Usher has announced the release of a new record, just months after his latest effort Raymond v. Raymond.Versus, an extended play in the vein of Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, will be released on August 24th. Usher, on his website, calls the release the "final chapter" of Raymond v. Raymond, which was released in March. The first single from the EP will be "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love", an electropop number featuring rapper Pitbull. While the single will hit radio tomorrow, it has leaked online today (my review will come later). The EP will be released alongside the deluxe edition of Raymond v. Raymond, which combine both records for a total of 22 songs.
Usher isn't the first artist to release an EP alongside an album, especially lately. Gaga did it with The Fame Monster, Justin Bieber split his My World album into two different records, and Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas are both reportedly prepping similar re-releases.
