Entertainment Weekly is reporting that comedian Steve Carrell is planning to leave NBC sitcom The Office following the show's seventh season."It's a good time to move on," Carrell told the magazine during the premiere of his upcoming film Despicable Me. "I just want to spend time with my family".
Carrell plays Michael Scott, the regional office manager for the Dundlin Miffler Paper Company. He won the Best Lead Actor Golden Globe for the role, and was nominated for the Best Actor in a Comedy Emmy four years in a row. The nominations for this year haven't been released yet.
In April, Carrell also alluded to his leaving the series, when he spoke to the BBC that he was planning to leave after the seventh season. According to NBC president Jeff Zucker, the show is making plans in case Carrell does decide to leave.
