Breaking News! NY Senate Shoots Down Gay Marriage

In a move that will most likely stun the country, the New York State Senate has voted against a measure that would legalize gay marriage. The bill needs 32 votes to pass, but only 24 senators supported the bill, with 38 senators opposing.

The failure to pass a gay marriage bill in New York, believed to be one of the most open states to gay marriage, deals another blow to the fight for marriage equality in the United States. Right now, only Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Vermont have legalized gay marriage. New Hampshire's gay marriage laws will go into effect next year.

In a devastating twist of irony, TV actress Meredith Baxter just came out on The Today Show. During her interview, she decided that she wouldn't come out during the Prop 8 controversy because she thought it would be opportunistic.

R.Kelly Is Acquitted Of All Charges in Child Porn Case

Hell, even if you have a video of you committing a crime, you can still get off scot-free!

R&B perv star R. Kelly has been acquitted of ALL 14 charges of child pornography this afternoon, despite VIDEO evidence to the contrary.

What's even more shocking than the verdit. According to TMZ.com, the jury BELIEVED it was him on the tape. The reason for acquittal? The victim Kelly's yellow stream of love refused to testify and cooperate, leading the jurors to call lack of evidence, preventing the rightful guilty verdict.

OK. If Michael Jackson's career had to suffer because of his trial (which had little to no evidence proving him guilty), then so does R. Kelly's. For god's sake, he was acquitted on a freakin' technicality! Don't get me wrong; R.Kelly has made some great music in the past, but this is just so stupid crap.

IF there is any justice, there will be no more "bump n' grind"in for the Pied Piper of R&B.

DESPICABLE! NYPD TAUNTS Sean Bell's Fiancee!

According to the New York Post, the Internal Affairs bureau of the New York Police Department is currently investigating a cruel prank call made on Friday, the day that the 3 accused officers were acquitted of all charges in the shooting death of Sean Bell. The call allegedly came from the offices of a well-respected police uniom

At 1:15pm, a call was made to the home of Les Paultre, the father of Nicole Bell, Sean Bell's fiancee. On the line, someone said "ha, ha, ha", and hung up. On the caller ID, the Sargeants Benevolent Association number appeared.

Nicole Bell said in a statement later, "It was horrible to get that call coming back from the cemetery".

I hope the person/s who made the call are caught and severely punished for doing something both stupid and heinous. To rub a young man's death and the failure of justice for him in the faces of the family is absolutely disgusting.

Me To Rob Lowe's Nanny: I Don't Buy It!

Normally, I am one who jumps to the defense off the accuser in situations like these, but something here smells very fishy.

Sorry Gloria, I think your client is a fraud.

Jessica Gibson, a former nanny for Brothers and Sisters actor Rob Lowe, is accusing him of sexual harassment and sexual assault. His response? He and his wife filed a lawsuit against the woman, claiming she attempted to blackmail them for 1.5 million dollars! If they didn't pay up, she would go to the press.

Well, it seems like she went good on her word.

She even got herself a top-notch vulture of a lawyer, the infamous Gloria Allred. The two went on the Today Show to share their side of the story this past week.

Technically, Gloria shared their side of the story; the nanny was basically mute. That didn't mean she didn't say anything. She may have only said a word or two, but her face spoke volumes for her.

During the majority of the interview, Jessica had this odd smirk on her face, almost as if she was saying "I got you, Rob Lowe." She didn't look like a woman who, for years, was sexually humiliated by a celebrity. She also didn't look like a courageous woman fighting against a pervert actor. Instead, she looked like a woman who was expecting the public to be on her side, someone who was very satisfied with how the interview was going.

She can thank Gloria Allred for that, because if her lawyer wasn't there, she would've completely collapsed.

Whenever Meredith asked the nanny a question that pertained to her alleged sexual abuse or the text messages she sent the family, she always hesitated to answer before Allred stepped in and weaved her magic wand of legal jargon to cover a potential mistake. I was given the impression that if she was allowed to answer, she would continue to hesitate, think about the answer, then deliver a response she would later forget or change. The interview was more about Gloria Allred than a woman finding justice.

I'm sorry, but if she can't even properly defend herself in the court of public opinion, than how the hell is she going to handle Lowe's (and ABC's, they are supporting him) high-powered lawyers in a trial?

Again, Gloria's there, all ready to fight in both courts.

Seriously, I don't buy these accusations for a second. I think both Gloria and the nanny are full of it; money-hungry, publicity-seeking women who are attacking a man known for his questionable sexual exploits. I believe it's a case of extortion, plain and simple.

Jessica should quit this before she loses any kind of respect people have for her. Leave Rob Lowe and his family alone!

Chauffeur and Paparazzi Responsible in Princess Diana's Death

The verdict is in.

image After four days of deliberations, the inquest jury has declared Princess Diana's death an "unlawful killing", placing the blame on both the paparazzi and the "grossly negligent" driving of chauffeur Henri Paul.

Henri Paul was driving drunk, contributing heavily to the car losing control and smashing into a pillar in the Pont D'Alma Tunnel in Paris, France. The photographers who were chasing the car also bore heavy blame. On top of chasing the car, they prevented proper medical attention by taking pictures of a fatally injured Diana in the mangled car wreck and did not call 911 immediately. Finally, the fact that neither Dodi or Diana wore seatbelts also contributed to their untimely deaths.

Princes William and Harry of Wales, Diana's two children, thanked the inquest jury for their thorough work and agreed with the verdict delivered.

The $20 million inquest lasted 6 months will over 200 testimonies from many people close to both Diana and her lover Dodi al Fayed, including butler Paul Burrell and Dodi's father Mohammed Al Fayed. The coroner decided before the jury deliberations that there was not enough sufficient evidence to support al Fayed's theory that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had worked with MI5 in a plot to assassinate the princess to prevent her from marrying a Muslim man.

Al Fayed expressed disappointment at the verdict, claiming it was a blow to the millions who supported his theory. He also expressed anger that members of the Royal Family were not brought in to testify.

In closing remarks, Coroner Lord Scott Baker expressed hope that the verdict would bring closure to the case once and for all.

Me to Sony BMG: Drop The Lawsuit Against Perez!

Now, I am not to defend Perez Hilton of all people, but this is just wrong!

Sony BMG is suing Perez Hilton because of song clips he put on his website that were allegedly from Britney Spears' album Blackout. He is being slapped with a lawsuit despite the fact the songs were already available before appearing on Perez's website and that he only streamed them.

What is really annoying about this is that Perez heavily promotes Sony BMG's artists, for free. Perez's website is one of the most influential right now, with millions visiting his blog a month. To sue someone who really is an ally is absurd.

The argument for Sony BMG is that streaming her songs could affect album sales. That is a load of bull, and they have to know it. If anything, the leaked songs gave press to Britney's colossal flop of an album. It's not Perez's fault that Blackout barely sold 500,000 copies. It's Britney's fault.

I don't understand why record companies don't use the internet to their advantage. With websites like Perez, TMZ, and YouTube around, you have TONS of advertising. Instead of removing YouTube videos of artists' music, they could put up special tracks themselves. That way, the listener has more of an incentive to buy the record. It's common sense, for heaven's sake! Instead of suing Perez, Sony BMG could've sent him a cease-and-desist message. They could've also worked with him, sending him exclusive music to promote on his website.

It just seems so childish for a major label to go after someone who has only helped them in the past. Yes, he is a rude ass, but he is good business. It's practices like this that are signaling the collapse of the record industry.

If Sony BMG wants to save any face, they will definitely drop the insulting and ridiculous against Perez Hilton.

Here is the link to Perez's post about the matter:

Inquest Judge: Royal Family DIDN'T Kill Princess Diana

image At today's wrap-up of the Princess Diana inquest, Lord Scott Baker stated that the evidence presented did not uncover any possible connection to the British Royal Family. After 6 months and over 250 witnesses testifying, the judge stated that "there is no evidence that the Duke of Edinburgh ordered Diana's execution and there is no evidence that the security intelligence service or any other government agency organized it."

Mohammad Al Fayed, father of Dodi Al Fayed, the man who died alongside Diana, has maintained the belief that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen's husband, had plotted with British intelligence services to kill Diana in the August 31th 1997 car crash. Allegedly, he wanted her dead to prevent the possibility of Princes William and Harry having a Muslim stepfather and half-brother. When Al Fayed testified a few weeks back, he accused Prince Philip of being a Nazi and a racist; he also compared the Royal Family to Dracula.

The judge decided not to call the Queen and Prince Philip to the stand because of the lack of evidence.

Princess Diana Case Finally Put To Rest

2459-14-photo After a decade of rampant speculation and a sensational court case, the  judge appointed to the inquest into Diana, Princess of Wales' shocking death will wrap-up everything on Monday and send the jury to decide.

On August 31st, 1997, the world woke up to the devastating news that Britain's Princess Diana was killed in a car crash alongside her love Dodi Al Fayed. What followed was an unprecedented display of worldwide grief. Her funeral was watched by 1/3 of the world's population, her charity single performed by Elton John is the second highest-selling single in world history. Millions of dollars were made off of her image; from random memorabilia to tell-all books by those who knew her best.

Her death was so sudden and shocking, many found a simple car crash too easy to reconcile. She was, of course, the most photographed woman in the world. She had to have been involved in some elaborate scheme that took her life, right?

image That was the argument of Mohammed Al Fayed, the father of Dodi Al Fayed. He insisted that she was killed by MI5 in an attempt to keep from marrying a Muslim man. Behind the supposed hit? Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen's husband. Along with those allegations, Al Fayed claimed that Diana and Dodi were engaged and she was pregnant.

His allegations along with morbid public curiosity led to an inquest being called two weeks after the Princess's 46th birthday. Led by Lord Scott Baker, the inquest cost about 10 million pounds and has lasted about 9 months. Over 250 witness were called, including Diana's stepmother Raine Spencer, her butler Paul Burrell, and of course, Al Fayed.

What followed was more of a tell-all book than a serious investigation into the loss of one of the most influential women of the 20th century. Details about Diana's love life were revealed in court and splashed across British newspapers, as they were ten years ago. The most scandalous of the testimonies was that of Al Fayed, who raged against the British Royal Family and called Prince Philip a racist Nazi.

image Paul Burrell, who released a book in 2002 that blew the lid off of Diana's life, was revealed as a perjurer when The Sun uncovered a video of him admitting to lying. It was also revealed that Burrell took a ring off of her corpse.

imageAfter all of the drama, the testimonies have ended and now, the judge will call for the jury to decide: was Diana murdered or was it an accident? After nearly 11 years, it will all come down to this verdict; there will never be an investigation or inquest of this scale, unless someone confesses.

When the jury delivers their verdict, it will hopefully mean that Diana, Princess of Wales will finally receive the peace that has eluded her in both life and death.
