FINALLY! Mariah Carey Officially Announces Pregnancy!

Will Mimi be prepping an
album of lullabies for her baby?

After months of rampant (and obvious) speculation, pop diva Mariah Carey has shared with the world that she is indeed pregnant.

Carey, who releases her second holiday album Merry Christmas II You next week, was interviewed by Access Hollywood's Billy Bush and shared the news.

"It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy," said about keeping mum about her pregnancy. "At this point, there's no choice. Either I talk or hibernate."

Pregnancy rumors have run rampant in the last few months, starting with Mariah pulling out of a role in the Tyler Perry film For Colored Girls. Lately, she has been seen looking heavier than usual, and she wore many flowing dresses in an attempt to hide her pregnancy.

While news of her pregnancy came to the surprise of no one, the revelation that she suffered a miscarriage in 2008 will surely surprise everyone. In the interview, with husband Nick Cannon present, Mariah revealed the emotional effects her miscarriage on her and her marriage. 

"It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened, I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy."

The miscarriage, however, made their marriage stronger. The couple married in April of 2008 and renewed their vows in May.

The couple are expecting their child in the spring, and have already picked out baby names. The sex is unknown.
