The drama that is his private and personal life has overshadowed his important role in the latets pop music shift to dance. In 2008, before Gaga dominated the airwaves, he was bringing blended electropop and R&B to the mainstream with "Forever", arguably one of the best pop songs of the past five years. When Taio Cruz, Usher, Jay Sean, and more jumped on the bandwagon, it didn't seem as authentic as "Forever" (especially when Usher did it).
So when Chris Brown released "Yeah 3X", the first single from his upcoming album F.A.M.E., it definitely felt like a return to form of sorts. With the wondrous aid of time on his side, hearing Brown play the fun-loving partygoer is a lot easier to swallow, especially with the epic-sounding club arrangement. The chorus is painfully catchy, and the whole production is just fun. Songs like this really make you realize how much Chris Brown was missed in the pop world.
"Yeah 3X" was released to iTunes this past Tuesday.
