Download of the Day 5/2: Robyn's Be Mine!

image Among the large number of album releases this week, one may be unfortunately overshadowed:

Robyn's Robyn.

It's a shame because her album is being touted as the best pop record of the decade. Well, considering I love two of her songs, they may not be so far off.

"Be Mine!" is absolutely fantastic. It is one of the best pop songs of the year hands down, nearly surpassing "With Every Heartbeat" in its greatness. It's genius lies in its simplicity. Robyn shows that all of the bells and whistles that are currently being used aren't really necessary to make a good pop song. The basis of the song are two different beats and some string instrument. The lyrics are also uncomplicated, but fun and catchy. Robyn has a great voice too, and she shows it here and on "With Every Heartbeat".

It may not hit the Top 10, but Robyn more than deserves the success of her competitors of this week.

RATING: 9/10
