Daytime Emmy Nominations: BULL!

Seriously, what does Katherine Kelly Lang have to do to get a freakin' Emmy nomination??

After delivering a pitch-perfect performance as a sexual-assaulted Brooke Forrester on B&B last summer, she looses the nomination to Nicole Forester? What the hell?

This year's Emmy nominations are a disgrace, for two main reasons:

1. The same people who got nominated before were nominated again, when they didn't deserve it!

2. People who don't deserve nominations get them!

One of the most appalling nominations for me was the aforementioned Nicole Forester, who plays mister's wife and prostitute Cassie Lewis on Guiding Light. Explain to me how Laura Wright, who plays Carly on GH and used to play Cassie, NEVER received a nomination? People actually enjoyed her in the role! What on earth is happening there? Also, there are TONS of other actresses who would be better nominees (besides KKL, Deidre Hall, Nancy Lee Grahn, and Alicia Minshew). It makes no sense to me at all.

Then there is the bevy of Y&R emmy noms. Three actresses from the #1 rated show were nominated for Younger Actress, and only one of them actually deserved it. Tammin Sursok's turn of Colleen hasn't been anything remarkable, and Vail Bloom's Heather bores me to tears. Crazy Jana Hawkes, played by Emily O'Brien, was fantastic as a psycho, and will probably take it home.

Another big problem is the lack of variety in nominees. Once again, Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R), Tony Geary (Luke, GH), David Canary (Adam/Stuart, AMC) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, Y&R) are nominated again. What about others? Why is it that the same people are nominated every time, even when they shouldn't?

This is going to be one screwed up Emmys.
