Yesterday afternoon, newly appointed New York Governor David Paterson was sworn in as the first black governor in New York history. But, along with his swearing-in, another bit of news was released: during a very rough patch during their marriage, both Governor Paterson and his wife participated in extramarital affairs. According to Paterson himself, during a press conference, had many relationships with other women when his marriage nearly fell apart in 2001. One of the women he had an affair with was an employee of the state, although not on his payroll. Michele also had an affair as well, but the couple decided to work it out for the sake of their two children. They are currently happily married.
