True Blood Stars NAKED On The Cover of Rolling Stone!

Oh. My. God.

That was the response I had when I saw the latest issue of Rolling Stone, out tomorrow.

True Blood stars Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin, and Stephen Moyer cover this month's magazine, naked and covered in blood.

Can we say, hottest magazine cover EVER?

Yes, we can!

Cover This: Katy Perry's Teenage Dream Covers!

Katy Perry is on a roll right now with her massive hit "California Gurls" and she's not slowing down a bit. The pop star has released the artwork for her new album Teenage Dream and the title track, which will serve as the second single:

Here is Teenage Dream, the single:

And here is Teenage Dream, the album:

To be honest, the single artwork looks better suited for an album than the actual artwork. The album artwork, while definitely sexy, just seems too sparse for the energetic Perry. That said, the single cover is like a hyper-updated version of Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth (I said hyper):

Katy Perry's new single is expected to debut next week, and the new album is due for release on August 24th.

Speaking of Kylie Minogue, The Aphrodite Cover Is Epic

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2NKziv1s6zPyW5TwT1L-LHP_yqsHK1dJFNgyRw1mJvR89eCOl0kzM92HmlZzcSy0io6PbZHzk5A325k6tAhOJAyScL5vqbGDGU-ODCfz0Ly197ReYj26hyphenhyphenbasrb3kjG6-3Srpe1AxPegR/s1600/Kylie+Aphrodite+All+Lovers.jpg
For many people, Kylie Minogue is a princess of pop.

By the looks of the cover of her eleventh studio album Aphrodite, she's claiming a title a wee bit higher: goddess.

And you know what? It works. Very well.

Aphrodite is due for release on July 5th, while the lead single "All The Lovers" will be out a week earlier, June 28th.

Adam Lambert Swagga Jacks Kylie and Blake Lewis For New Album Cover

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is dropping his new album For Your Entertainment later this year, and he revealed the album artwork today:

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6303/adamlambertforyourenter.jpg

It's bad enough the cover is an utter hot mess, but the concept has already been done, a hundred times better, by Kylie Minogue for her 2007 album X (even down to the font):

Lambert also apparently drew inspiration from fellow runner-up Blake Lewis, who used the space theme for his disastrous flop album Audio Day Dream:

File:Blake Lewis Audio Day Dream.jpg

Adam Lambert borrowing from two albums that flopped in the United States (love you Kylie) is not a good look. Borrowing from two flop albums to make a hideous album is an even worse look. It's one of the worst album covers of the year, by far.

For Your Entertainment is due for release November 23rd.

Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster Album Covers Revealed!

As we've learned in the year since Lady Gaga turned the pop world on its ear, she very much enjoys making a statement. So it's no surprise that she would use her album artwork to do so.

The re-release of The Fame, The Fame Monster, is due on November 24th, and here is what it will look like:

The Standard Edition:

The Deluxe Edition:

If you appreciate high art, than you probably think this is genius. If you don't (and/or are deeply religious), you probably think she's gone off the deep end.

Either way, it's totally Gaga.

Speaking of her new album, the first single "Bad Romance" will be sent to radio on October 19th. The demo for the song was leaked last week, and the official version was premiered at the Alexander McQueen show at Paris Fashion Week.

Are you ready for Gaga's Monster?

Cover This: Leona Lewis' New Single "Happy"

This is the cover for Leona Lewis' new single "Happy", which premieres in the UK on Radio 1 on Sunday.

If this single cover is any indication of what her single and album will be like, then she just shot up to #1 on my most anticipated albums list.

By the way, did I mention she looks freaking amazing?

Her new album, Echo, is due in November. Definitely check it out.

Cover This: Whitney Houston Returns With "I Look To You"

At an album listening party in London, Whitney Houston and Clive Davis revealed the album cover for her September 1st album "I Look To You", her first in six years. Here it is below:

File:I Look to You.jpg

The cover altogether is kind of cheap-looking to be honest. In fact, I'm pretty sure I could make a better one on Photoshop using Whitney's picture. She looks amazing on the cover (even though there is some clear airbrushing), looking like the pop queen that she is. Compared to pictures of her from two or three years ago, the improvement is staggering.

The album again drops on September 1st in the United States, and it is rumored that the single will drop on July 28th (and it's NOT "I Didn't Know My Own Strength", thank God).

Cover This: Lines, Vines, and Trying Times by Jonas Brothers

This is the cover of the new Jonas Brothers album Lines, Vines, and Trying Times, out for release on June 15th.

File:Lines, Vines and Trying Times album cover.jpg

I just have one question: why the HELL are they releasing a new album already?

I mean, come on. They just released A Little Bit Longer in August, which means they released this record less than a year ago. And that is just studio albums, since they released the soundtrack to their flop concert movie just a few months ago. Combine this with their new television show airing on Disney Channel in May, the three brothers are quickly approaching overexposure status. In fact, the conspiracy theorist in me believes that Hollywood Records (their label) is anticipating their demise and just wants to release as many products as possible before they burn out. It seems like the excitement of being pop stars has blinded them to the possibility. As I’ve said before, they want to maintain any career into the future, they need to cut Disney loose, now.

Anyway, the album’s lead single is reportedly “Dynamite”, with a release date of May 15th. And about the cover, I’ve got to admit, it’s not terrible.

Cover This: Fantasy Ride by Ciara

File:Fantasy Ride.jpg

This, folks, what happens why ugly design happens to beautiful people.

I could list all the things wrong with this cover, but that would take awhile. I will simply pose this question:

If Ciara is a superhero, why did it take Justin Timberlake to save her album?

Fantasy Ride will be released on May 5th.

Cover This! "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson

What an awesome way to start off the new year!

Just today, Kelly unveiled the single cover from her new single, that will be released in the next week and a half.

It's very fun and colorful, and she looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad she ditched the lite-goth look she had in the last record. Definitely looking forward to hear this song when it comes out.

Cover This! UK's Daily Mirror on the 2004 Presidential Election

George Bush, President, Election, Daily Mirror, News
THIS is why I L-O-V-E the Brits!

You know what's truly funny about the cover from a November '04 issue of UK tabloid The Daily Mirror? It's the sub-headline "U.S. ELECTION DISASTER". The other stuff its too obvious to mention.

Let's see what they'll come up with tomorrow morning.

Cover This! Britney Spears' "Circus"

Image:Circus- Album.png

OK, so we were all excited about the release of Circus, the Britney Spears album that restore her to pop domination. In fact, I really really wanted to see what the album cover looked like; I wasn't sure what to expect.

I certainly didn't expect this.

While Britney looks all cute and innocent, everything else around her looks terrible. The star border and the font makes it look like Britney's album is a collection of cheesy country ballads.Either that or a free ride to the freak show.

Seriously, who is designing these covers, because many of the latest ones are pretty bad.

Cover This: David Archuleta and David Cook's Albums

David Archuleta cover  David Cook cover

Both albums are self-titled. Both albums will be released in November. Both albums have an artist named David.

Both album covers suck.

Archuleta, whose look on AI could be mistaken for an injured puppy, looses all of his teen charm in this cover. He looks about 10 years older and looks like a kid who just broke out of juvie.

Cook looks like he borrowed money from governor Palin's $15K makeup budget. Either that, or someone attacked him with a mascara brush.

The other common thread of these crappy album covers is the hideous fonts. I get it; they're supposed to edgy and cool, but they just aren't attractive.

Whether or not you love them, but wouldn't you be the least bit embarrassed walking out of Wal-Mart with these two albums in your bag? Just a little bit?

Cover This: Jonas Brothers' "Burnin Up"

The Jonas Brothers have revealed the single cover for their new single "Burnin' Up", coming out this week.

I don't get it. If the song is called "Burnin' Up", then why is Kevin wearing a thick scarf. Is he cold? Is it supposed to be ironic?

Thoughts?
