I completely sympathize with Whitney Houston (and I still advocate for Bobby Brown's burning at the stake), but after hearing her voice at her London concert two nights ago, I have some serious advice for ticketholders for the diva's future concerts. First, get a refund, immediately after reading this post. Then, either spend that money on a Whitney greatest hits CD or watch Youtube videos of her past performances. Otherwise, prepare to be disappointed, heartbroken, shocked, or all three at the same time.
Here is the legend performing "I Will Always Love You":
I'm sorry Whit, but you need to not perform live, for a long time. In fact, for the sake of your reputation, I would just cancel the rest of the tour altogether.

WORST: Houston, What's The Problem? Whitney's Concert Disasters
![]() |
Whitney, what's wrong? |
The singer, currently embarking on a world tour supporting her successful comeback album I Look To You, is facing intense criticism from fans and the press after a string of lackluster, if not outright terrible, performances.
Her latest concert, at London's O2 Arena, was apparently so terrible that some fans walked out of the show after only twenty minutes, even though some paid up to $156 for tickets. Whitney, who was diagnosed with a respiratory infection, struggled to hit the famous high notes in songs like "I Will Always Love You". She wasn't able to finish her classic hit "Greatest Love of All", stopping after a few verses, according to reports. She blamed her vocal issues on the air conditioning, and even referred to her powerful pipes as being "temperamental".
Another major criticism was her appearance. The diva appeared haggard, bloated, and out of shape at the O2 Arena. It comes as a major surprise, since Whitney has been looking fantastic for most of the tour so far.
So, what's wrong with Whitney?
While she reportedly was hospitalized for a respiratory infection in Paris last month, criticisms of her vocal performance appeared long before then. The Australian leg of her tour was viciously attacked for what concert-goers considered terrible vocals. Her croaky voice has been blamed by her concert promoters on her smoking habits, while it also possible that the drug abuse in the last few years has left irreversible damage on her voice. Finally, she just may not have been physically ready to do such an extensive tour spanning Asia and Europe so far (no North American plans have been made).
I am a huge fan, and she can deny it as much as she wants, but there is clearly something wrong in the world of Whitney. Let's just hope she can fix it before her comeback is officially tarnished.

Nicki Minaj Removes Herself From Rihanna Tour

"Harajuku Barbie" won't be reigning with Rihanna this summer
So much for girl power?
Rapper Nicki Minaj, who has collaborated with everyone from Usher to Mariah Carey in the past few months, has announce on Twitter that she will no longer be apart of Rihanna's "Last Girl On Earth" summer tour, also featuring singer Ke$ha.
On her page, she said she would rather take the time to record her upcoming record, and that she's sorry she's disappointing her fans (known as "barbz"). The announcement comes just two days after the tour detatls and dates were released to the public.
While I understand finishing up the album is important, this kind of promotion was simply too huge to pass up. I mean, even if she could only do a few dates, that would've been better than none at all. Finishing up the album is pointless if no one is going to end up buying it.
Oh well, more stage time for Rihanna (or Ke$ha, if you're into that)

UNBelievable! Westlife Performs "Don't Cha" by The Pussycat Dolls?
Irish boyband Westlife is known for covering popular songs, but this is just unspeakable.
During their Face to Face Tour in 2006, the four bandmates performed an eye gouge-worthy rendition of the Pussycat Dolls smash hit "Don't Cha".
Sounds bad? It gets worse.
The boys, who have been criticized for their milquetoast, lite-pop music, got down and VERY dirty, performing dance moves that would make a stripper blush. Seriously, three out of the four were gyrating, pelvic thrusting, and shaking in ways men approaching their 30s shouldn't be doing; ever. Imagine from my perspective, who had only seen them do minor choreography during a performance of "World of Our Own" on Dancing on Ice on YouTube. It was awkward, cringe-inducing, and overall hideous. Plus, it kinda reinforced the belief that Shane and Mark have the best voices in the group, by far.
Whoever told Westlife to perform that song and do what they were doing on stage (

Madonna and Britney Team Up For Tour
The last time Britney Spears and Madonna worked together, they shared a shocking kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.
This time, it appears to be more tame.
Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's publicist, told the Associated Press that Britney was filming some material that would appear during Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet" tour, which begins on August 23rd in Cardiff, Wales. She could reveal no more than that, claiming it was a secret.
The news becomes the first from her career life since her personal life erupted in tabloid scandal. Her presence in the life Alex Rodriguez has reportedly caused the breakdown of his marriage to Cynthia. Rampant speculation has also surrounded her own marriage to filmmaker Guy Ritchie. This past week, Madonna has both denied any affair and the ending of her marriage.
