BWU SIngles Chart Roundup 1/31: Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson Debut at #1

Country has finally claimed the top spot.

Jason Aldean breaks plenty of records on this week's BWU Singles Chart, as "Don't You Wanna Stay", a duet with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, becomes the first country single to reach #1. Before, the highest peak for a country single was #2, which was reached by Taylor Swift with "Back to December". Aldean himself is only third male artist to hit #1, and is the first male artist to see a song debut at #1.

Last week's #1, "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears, slips to #3, as Jennifer Lopez holds on at #2 with "On The Floor". Rihanna moves up to a new peak of #7 with "S&M", while "Only Girl", after 16 weeks in the Top 10, falls to #14. Pink, on the back of her music video, leaps up from #18 to a new peak of #5 with "F**kin' Perfect". Usher and Wynter Gordon fall out of the top 5 with the new changes, down to #7 and #8 respectively.

Just missing the Top 10 is Nicki Minaj and her single with Drake, "Moment 4 Life", climbing up to #11 after the music video's release. Minaj's mentor Lil Wayne debuts at #17 with "6 Foot 7 Foot". The lowest chart debut of the week belongs to Ke$ha and her newest single "Blow" at #26.
