BWU Singles Chart Roundup 1/2/11: Joe McElderry Reclaims #1 For New Year

Joe McElderry has returned to the top of the BWU Singles Chart this week!

Another week at the top for X Factor Joe
The 2009 X Factor winner moves up from #2 with "Someone Wake Me Up", the second single from his debut Wide Awake. He previous topped the BWU Christmas chart, but was dethroned last week by Cheryl Cole's "The Flood", which falls to #2 this week. Joe is the first male artist to spend a second week on top of the chart.

Kanye West's new single "All of the Lights" moves up two spots to #3, causing Alexandra Burke to slip to #4 with "The Silence". Usher's new single, a remixed version of "More", skyrockets from #28 to #5, becoming his third Top 5 single. Also making big leaps are Nicole Scherzinger, whose single "Poison" hits a new peak of #11, Nicki Minaj, who climbs to #14 with "Right Thru Me", and Christina Perri's "Jar of Hearts" at #17. Katy Perry's "Firework" also sees a slight rebound up from #20 to #15.

Avril Lavigne's new single "What The Hell", which was released yesterday on Facebook, is the highest debut this week, and the lowest in the chart's history, coming in at #22. Also debuting this week is Kanye's "Monster" at #30.
