The 2009 winner of X Factor climbs up from #5 to the top of the Christmas chart this week with "Someone Wake Me Up". He is the first male artist since Usher to top the chart. His last single, "Ambitions", peaked at #10. Alexandra Burke, last week's #1 and the winner before him, slips to #3 with "The Silence". Keri Hilson stays put at #2 with her latest single "Pretty Girl Rock".
In another bit of irony, Cheryl Cole, who mentored both Joe and Alexandra, enters the chart at #5 with her new single "The Flood". Cheryl's other single "The Promise" falls to #20, but is officially certified as Gold, with 307 points in 11 weeks.
Adele zooms up to #4 with "Rolling in the Deep", while Michael Jackson and Rihanna make 1 spot increments with "Hold My Hand" and "Only Girl (In The World)", respectively. After considerable slides in past weeks, Chris Brown's "Yeah 3X" and Willow's "Whip My Hair" both significantly rebound into the Top 20, at #16 and #17.
Nicole Scherzinger has the second highest debut of the week with "Poison" coming in at #12. Right behind her is this year's X Factor winner Matt Cardle, who hits #13 with "When We Collide".
