Techno and rap haven't always seen eye to eye.Maybe Kid Cudi could barter some kind of peace.
The Kanye protege released a remix of his debut single "Day 'N' Nite", done by house production duo The Crookers. While the original was a cool, chill record that borderlined on mundane, the remixed track is a completely energized, club thrasher. The chorus is a schizophrenic mix of buzzing beats, synths, and blaring horns, accompanied by a hook that's all of the sudden more infectious than it was in the original.
Not to give all the credit to the Crookers, Kid Cudi has a very good flow, similar to Lupe Fiasco, and the lyrics are refreshingly not misogynistic, violent, arrogant, or obnoxious. He's simply an MC with skills.

One of the best tracks of the year so far.
