Rumors of Nadine Coyle quitting British girl group Girls Aloud have reached a fever pitch.
Uk tabloid News of the World is reporting that tensions between the girls are higher than ever, and that Nadine is the cause.
Nadine and her family moved from London to Los Angeles to open up an Irish-themed pub, which makes keeping up engagements with the group very difficult.
A source told the newspaper that Nadine has "become very distant and seems to resent the time she has to spend in London away from her new base in LA. Getting her to show up for things can be very difficult.... The other four can’t stand her these days because they feel her heart isn’t in the band."
Nadine has been absent from more than a few engagements; she missed this year's BRIT Awards for which the girls were nominated because she lost her passport. She also didn't participate in the ITV miniseries Passions, which showed each of the girls pursuing their dreams.
Possible split rumors have been persistent over the years, especially since Girls Aloud are considered a manufactured pop group. Yet, they have much reason to celebrate. Their latest single "The Promise" is proving to be one of their most successful to date, and their album Out of Control became their first studio album to chart at #1 on the UK charts. They'll be releasing their 20th single "The Loving Kind", on January 20th.
I would personally be wrecked if Nadine left the group, so if the rumors are true, I hope they work it out.
