Whenever pop music becomes monotonous, Lady GaGa comes to liven things up.Even the usually-stale genre of holiday music has been "GaGa"-fied. "Christmas Tree" may be billed as a holiday song, but she is talking about a different kind of "holiday cheer", if you know what I mean. What else could she mean when she sings "my christmas tree's delicious"?
The song, like many GaGa tracks, is a buzzing electro stomper, adorned with the occasional jingling bells. The beat is ridiculously danceable, the vocals are robotic, but still fun, and the lyrics are dripping with more innuendo than tinsel on a Christmas tree. Trust me, you'l never use the holiday phrase "fa-la-la-la" the same way again after hearing the song.
Leave it to 2008's most interesting and fresh artist to close it so well. Here's to more GaGa in 2009!
