Is it finally solved?
We've heard MANY theories about the Montauk Monster. It's a racoon, it's a demon, it's a science experiment gone wrong, it's a guerilla marketing tactic from Cartoon Network.
The truth may finally be revealed, though. And it's as boring as hell.
According to further analysis of new pictures, the guys at Wired.com believe its a pitbull that's been involved in dogfighting (the vicious, PETA-dispised "sport" that Michael Vick made famous?). Apparently, the Monster looks a lot like a pitbull, and the bindings around its legs can be related to dogfighting.
This may sound weird, but I really hoped it was something really cool, like an undiscovered animal or something. It's not confirmed yet, so there still may be hope. For right now, just throw that in with the other theories.
I still can't believe that Jeff Corwin thought it was a freakin' racoon.
