The CW's In Trouble!

I knew they should've kept the WB!

Two years after launching, the CW network, a fusion of the WB and UPN, is on the verge of collapse!

Ratings for the network are down 22% percent, during May Sweeps! As TV lovers know, "Sweeps" are the months that advertisers look for to begin negotiating commercial space. The lower the ratings, the lower the money the network makes, which is VERY bad for business.

Despite successes like Gossip Girl and America's Next Top Model, the channel isn't getting the viewers they are desperate for, the 18-34 demographic. They are the basis of the whole network. The reason for the low ratings According to the Wall Street Journal, the CW's demographic are flooding to the Internet for amusement, forgoing the tube altogether.

I mean, why sit in front of the TV and watch 40 minutes of GG with commercials when you can simply click on iTunes, download it, and watch it whenever you want!

Rumors are escalating about either Time Warner or CBS pulling out of the drowning venture. People are saying that the network is being given one more season before cancellation is really considered.

And they are pulling out every stop!

On top of Gossip Girl, there is the heavily-anticipated remake of Beverly Hills 90210, titled 90210. Execs are hoping that old 90210 fans will tune in for nostalgia purposes. To further that goal, former stars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are joining the show, as well as Melrose Place star Rob Estes.

Hopefully, the CW can pull it together!
