There's nothing like a dreary, rainy New York day in a car with your mom on the way food shopping.
As you may have guessed from previous iPhone Follies mentions featuring my mother, music is a necessity when dealing with her without ripping your hair out in the process I love her to bits, but she had the innate ability to irk me with little trouble at all.
So imagine the little ping of glee I felt when I pressed Shuffle and "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles came on first. Literally, the entire song is what I write in a letter to my mom, with a few words replaced for context, if I decided to run away and officially move to London. If there is one person I know who thinks they are the king or queen of anything (okay, there are actually a lot of people I know who are like this), it is my mom.
That said, when she isn't making me want to stuff knives in my ears, she is the best.
