Reshiram covers the English version of Pokémon Black, due for release on March 6th of next year |
Pokémon fans rejoice!
Nintendo announced today that the highly-anticipated Pokémon Black and White versions will be released on March 6th, which is a little over two months away!
The release date falls in line with previous North American launches of the Pokémon launches. Last year, HeartGold and SoulSilver were released on March 14th. Black and White were released in Japan this past September. Since November 3rd, sales of the games in Japan have surpassed 4.3 million copies, signaling the continued resurgence of the game's popularity.
Black and White take place in the new Unova region, with 156 new Pokémon to capture and battle with. One of the new features to change gameplay is the lock on older Pokémon until all of the new ones are registered in the Pokédex; this is the first time old generation Pokémon will be unavailable, including the forever popular Pikachu.
The new games also feature greater 3D rendering and three-way battles.
Will you be catching them all in March?
