That didn't take long.
A few hours after I made my post about what Chris Brown must do/say, he released a statement through his publicist Michael Sitrick, his first since last Sunday:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."Thank you setting the record straight, Chris....NOT!
As for following my advice, he basically gets a D-. As I was expecting, the statement was a carefully worded slab of public relations crap. Everything he said was expected an really unoriginal, even when it came to the mention of his family (and pastor). Also, debunking the media reports should not have been a priority (although he gets points for debunking the "previous statements" he made).
Basically, the statement was bogus. Better luck next time, Breezy.
Rihanna has yet to speak about the incident.
