Leona Supports Barack Obama As US President!

British songbird Leona Lewis has joined many celebrities in their support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. However, her reasons for believing in him are more about her home country of England than anything else.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper in the UK, Leona said, "I just don’t know what’s going on with the young kids in London now. I think Barack Obama could inspire young ethnic minorities in the UK to do something productive and show it’s not cool to do nothing with your life."

England, London in particular, has been stricken with an increase in teenage violence. One of Leona's childhood friends was involved in such violence that lead to his death, and since then she has been advocating for the cleaning up of the streets.

She also talks about his mixed race: “It would mean so much to have a mixed-race president, I just can’t explain. The country needs that change. It would mean everything for ethnic minorities in that country and every country around the world to have a mixed-race leader of America.”

Americans in every state are currently voting for either Barack Obama (my choice) or John McCain. Will Leona get her wish of a mixed race president for the world to admire? We will see tonight.

Most of the people is rooting for Obama to become our next president, and I wholeheartedly argee, it leaves me to wonder this question:

Does it matter what those who are in other countries think, when it comes to influencing most American's votes?

I'm not saying it doesn't matter after the election, but does it really have a sway in most of the American's public? We are known for being closeted into our own culture, so I'm willing to bet that it doesn't.
