Download of the Day 9/9: "Green Light" by John Legend

It's been awhile since I've done one of these, huh?

Well, I haven't really found any music that deserved it, until now.

John Legend, the singer of the fantastic "Ordinary People", is returning with both a new album and new sound. "Green Light" is a quick-paced, fun, danceable song. Despite the fact you can dance to it, its still rooted in the rich R&B sound that has defined his career. If you had to compare to any song, Ne-Yo's "Closer" fits the bill quite nicely, but less complicated. We've never seen this side from John Legend before, and its definitely a good one. Andre 3000 doesn't really do much on this song, but its not an unwelcome presence at all.

"Green Light" is definitely for those who love a quick groove (like me) and its a fascinating new chapter in the "Legend" of this R&B star.
