Soap opera star Beth Ehlers, who for years played Harley Cooper on CBS soap Guiding Light, is coming to All My Children. However, almost no one knows what role she will be playing!
At first, she was supposed to be a recast of Hayley Santos, previously played by daytime talk star Kelly Ripa. However, the age would've been off. Then, Soap Opera Digest revealed that she would be playing Liza Colby, last seen in 2005 played by vet Marcy Walker. Those plans were squashed when Marcy Walker expressed interest in the role after she quit acting 3 years ago. Now, there are rumors she is playing a Iraqi soldier. WTF??
So, who is she playing?
There is only one thing certain; whoever she plays, she will somehow be connected with Jake Martin (played by former co-star Ricky Paull Goldin). When both were on Guiding Light, Gus and Harley were THE couple that made that show worth watching. There is no doubt that AMC execs will try to capitalize on that chemistry.

I will admit I was unhappy that she left GL, but I'm still a huge Beth fan and will tune into AMC just to see her in daytime :) Nice blog!
