This season's final two was one of the most difficult to call....before the last night's episode.
In theory, it should have been hell to decided who was going home with the title of America's Idol. Both of them deserved to win and both of them wanted to win. In reality, last night's surprisingly short, lackluster performance finale told us the clearcut winner:
David Archuleta.
The 17 year-old from Utah will take home the title in tonight's 2-hour season ender, simply because he outperformed the other David.
In every song, even when he reheated "Imagine", he delivered more passion in his voice than ever before, outdoing DC's fire, which died out by the last song. He was in it to win it, and as far as I'm concerned, he did.
By the way, the American Idol Songwriting Contest once again delivered two disastrous songs. David A's was insipid, although he sang it beautifully. David C's was boring, although he did the best he could with it.
We'll see who wins tonight at 8 pm EST, but everyone knows, based on last night, Archuleta already has it.
