Embroiled in a humiliating ordeal involving super-expensive prostitutes, Silda has been given advice on how to handle the devastating situation:
Leave!
New York Post columnist Amanda Peyser headlined her article "Steamroll this lousy bum, Silda". She explains the situation the governor's wife is in, comparing it to other scandal wives like Hillary or Dina McGreevey. Unlike their approach, however, Amanda advised Silda to leave while she still can, finishing the article by saying that Spitzer "will wear you down".
A friend of Silda told NY newspaper The Daily News "If I were her, I would call my mother or my best friend and pack my bags and go someplace far away for six months and take my daughters with me."
Silda also received support from lawyer friend Nancy Lieberman, who she worked with at the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She's quoted as saying "Silda is the most wonderful human being in the world. She is kind and caring. My heart is with her at this time."
